Kelly Prescott comes by her music in the most honest way possible, as a third generation singer/songwriter on both sides of her family. She grew up between a tour bus & a world class recording studio, her childhood steeped in traditional country music. Kelly and her family recently made their Grand Ole Opry debut as guests of Terri Clark.

With her highly anticipated new solo album in the works (the first since her 2016 EP “Hillbilly Jewels” featuring Buddy Miller & Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo) Prescott is returning to her roots with the sounds and styles that she loves. Songs that tell stories and tackle tough subjects.

Her voice has to be experienced to be believed. She can sing with a conviction that you can only summon by performing authentic, honest songs.

She has toured all over North America as a solo artist, most recently with Kyle Cook of Matchbox 20, as a member of The Claytones and performing as Emmylou Harris in the theatrical production of Grievous Angel: The Legend of Gram Parsons. In the last 10 years she has released 5 records.

June 8, 2018, Nashville, TN — With her smokey and sultry vocals, singer-songwriter Kelly Prescott released her new single “Leavin’ Her” today, available via all major digital retailers and streaming services. The track, which she co-wrote with Jason Mater, is impacting radio now. Prescott also just filmed the official video in Nashville, TN, which is expected to be released later this month.

“‘Leavin’ Her’ is one of my favourite songs I’ve written in the last year with my co-writer, Jason Mater,” Kelly explains. “It’s a fresh perspective on the classic cheating song. Everyone has wanted someone they can’t have at one point or another in their lives.” She adds, “It’s more polished than my previous records, but it’s still got that gritty feel. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

Currently working on her new music project expected to be announced later this year, “Leavin’ Her” is the follow-up to her second solo album, the critically acclaimed Hillbilly Jewels. Splitting her time between her hometown of Toronto and Music City, Prescott recently performed at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry with Terri Clark and her award-winning family. Having toured with Clark last year, she invited Prescott to sing with her parents Tracey Brown and Randall Prescott for the first time together on the famed stage. Celebrating a long lineage of a very musically inclined family, the third generation singer grew up in an award winning studio where she was able to hone her craft of songwriting.

Touring across the U.S. earlier this year with Kyle Cook of Matchbox Twenty, Prescott will be performing at select festivals throughout the summer.
